50 things I will teach my daughter

  1. Know that You are enough. More than enough. 
  2. You are fearfully & wonderfully made.
  3. You don’t need a boy to tell you that you’re pretty to feel good about yourself.
  4. You don’t need a boy to complete you. You are a whole person all on your own.
  5. Wear whatever shade of lipstick you like. 
  6. A smile and a kind heart are a girl’s two prettiest assets.
  7. You aren’t in competition with other women. They are your sisters in Christ. 
  8. Have the patience to wait on the man God has for you. 
  9. If you decide marriage is not for you, that’s okay too. 
  10. Traveling will teach you things nothing else can, and make you a great storyteller. 
  11. There’s no substitute for experience. 
  12. If you want something, go get it. Don’t wait on the world to hand you anything. 
  13. You really can be whatever you want to be. 
  14. Find your voice, and use it to help those around you.
  15. It’s okay to binge watch your favorite show on Netflix every now and then.
  16. Make time for yourself a priority. 
  17. Learn to be smart with your money. 
  18. There’s nothing more bold and fierce than a woman who knows who she is in Christ. 
  19. Whether you like dresses or sweatpants and t-shirts, wear what makes you comfortable and feel good about yourself. 
  20. Don’t buy something in a store unless you absolutely love it on you. 
  21. Life definitely gets better after high school.
  22. Walk around barefoot on the grass. 
  23. Make time to watch sunrises, go on pretty walks, and to “stop and smell the roses.”
  24. Classy is always better. 
  25. You teach the people around you how to treat you by what you allow. 
  26. No matter what age you are, you will never stop learning. 
  27. If you ever stop and realized you settled in life, make the needed change without hesitation. 
  28. You’ll never be too old to sit in my lap. 
  29. Whenever you need me, I’ll be there. 
  30. Not everyone will like you, and that’s okay. 
  31. Don’t be a people pleaser, be a God pleaser. 
  32. You are a warrior. 
  33. Make/re-evaluate your bucket list every 7 years.  
  34. If a man has anything for you, he will respect, pursue, and cherish you. 
  35. Be happy for others when they succeed. 
  36. A pretty heart far outweighs a pretty face. 
  37. It’s okay to fix yourself up and treat yourself. 
  38. Pick a hobby and master it. 
  39. It’s okay if life doesn’t look like what you imagined. What matters is that you are happy. 
  40. Prioritize peace over anything. 
  41. Never stop chasing after the One who loves you most. 
  42. You can always talk to me.
  43. Money does not equal happiness.
  44. Relationships are important. Make time for those around you.
  45. Walk in Integrity, it’s too hard to cover lies and pretend.
  46. Operate in kindness, always.
  47. Look people in the eye when you are speaking to them.
  48. Don’t allow pride to get in the way of apologizing.
  49. Don’t beat yourself up when you make a mistake. Learn from it and do better next time.
  50. Know that no matter what you do or where you go, I will always love you and be there for you.

  1. Love this!! As a mom of 3 daughters, these are all things I would want my daughters to know. One things i would add is that it is ok to step outside of the box. Being uniquely different is ok.
