This is an excerpt from our latest devotional, Lord, Prepare Me to Be a Godly Wife.
Father,
You know this road isn’t easy for me. You know my heart’s desire; to love and be loved. You’ve seen where I’ve come from in life, and you see where I’m going but in this moment, waiting on you is just so hard.
I’m surrounded by a culture pushing me into ideas and ways that I know don’t align up with your will for me. My heart tries to pursue, yet you tell me to wait.
I am your cherished daughter, and I know the plans you have for me are great. But I pray right now, in this moment you fill me with your peace.
Help me to become fully satisfied in you, before you bring my Boaz to me. Help me to trust the process of becoming the woman you desire for me to be.
You see my heart’s full potential. You know that when I love, I love deeply and when I fall, I fall hard.
Father save my heart for the man you have set aside for me. Prepare me to be the kind of wife he needs me to be.
I want to be a wife after your own heart.
I choose to fully chase after you, God. When you bring along the man I am meant to marry I will not stop chasing you. We will chase after you together. We will be each other’s helpmate.
We will love each other purely and deeply, but we will love you the most. We will constantly strive to keep you at the center of our lives and marriage, for I know you are the glue that will hold us together.
When my Boaz comes along I will not forget my first love. I will not forget the one who loved me first, and loved me enough to give me a godly man who will love, cherish, and treasure the woman that I am.
While I am here waiting on you, I will choose to serve. I will choose to chase after your heart. I will choose to embrace all that you have called me to be. Wherever you go, I’ll go. Wherever you stay, I will stay.
I will leave the world behind to chase after the God of my heart. I will trust in you, even when the road seems hard and I feel like I can’t take another step.
I will let you mold me into the wife you have called me to be. I will love, cherish, honor, and treasure my future spouse. I will rely on the covenant of marriage and your strength to bring me through when my emotions try to lead me astray.
I thank you for all that you are, and all that you are preparing me to be. I thank you that I can trust you with every single detail of my life, that everything that matters to me matters to you.
I know that in your perfect timing, when you see fit, you will bring us both together to love and serve you. Thank you for loving me.
~You’re treasured daughter

Ohhhhhhhhhh Tiffany, you came at the right time for me. Broken- hearted and disillusioned as I was. You reaffirmed to me that waiting is not in vain and the Father has a beautiful love story. I might be swayed, humiliated, scorned and jeered at, but the Lord will never forsake me. May He use me as an instrument of His will. I say yes to His plan. Be blessed!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for reminding me to wait and to wait patiently. I try to cling to the verse Is 40:31…I know God has the perfect, godly man for me. I’m blessed

This is lovely and encouraging. I truly needed it. However, I’m wondering if God will bless me with a husband. It truly is my heart’s desire to be loved and in love again. My husband was shot in a robbery attempt at his job. That was 15 years ago. He loved The Lord and we served Him together in our small church. I do miss him but I know I will see him again. As I said before, I would like to marry again. The waiting is so hard and at the age of 57, I’m not young anymore. I have even asked God to remove this desire from my heart if it is not to be. It is still there. I still love and serve my Lord. I know my calling and I will continue to be true to it. And I will wait on The Lord. Thank you for your encouragement.

Angela, I’m so sorry to hear that. I am praying for you sis. I believe God embeds desires in our hearts for a reason. Test your desires, to see if it’s the flesh or spirit, and pray unceasingly. I pray for your peace and comfort. I pray God’s will over your life in Jesus name.

I see no male Comments?!? So I will post one. “Awesome attitude! ” It’s too bad that there are not many men to adopt this “prayer of waiting.” Or maybe it should be called “Prayer of putting God first.”
If we do that, He’ll bless us with the desire of our hearts.

This is just what I needed; thank you Jesus for this encouragement this morning. God you know my heart and this passage says it all.
I have never been married and I have been in the Lord most of my life; Yet at 44yrs old still my husband to be hasn’t found me as of yet.
The bible says when a man findeth a wife, he findeth a good thing. So all I can do is prepare myself (with your help & guidance) for that mand of God, man of integrity, man after your own heart, hand-picked special guy that you have JUST for me. That will adore, cherish, love, and treat me as you do.

May GOD bless you, dear woman.

In 2012 I met the man I prayed for. Truly he was a good person, humble, less of a talker, he had my interests at. And pride, routine, comparing him to other friends’ boyfriends, I grew cold and dominating and I broke off the relationship. When I see him at church, I wish the earth could swallow me to hide from him. I don’t know what exactly should God do for me that He hadn’t done? I will continue to trust God, He alone knows me so well.

Thank you for the wonderful revelation of the Holy spirit. I’ve been a widow twice. It’s disgraceful as the Bible says. God put in my heart the desire to get married. I’m 50. Your story has been a blessing to me. He led me on the right path. Thanks. God bless you!
