Life is but a wind that passes before your eyes and if you’re not careful, you will totally miss it. I don’t want to miss it. I want to let the breeze flow through my hair. I want to laugh, cry, and feel something.
There have times in my life that I have paralyzed with fear.
When my daughter was born nine weeks early I became paralyzed me with fear. When I was touched by someone in a way I shouldn’t have been, I was paralyzed with fear. When I lost my grandpa, the man who had been like a father to me, I became paralyzed by fear.
I was a broken little girl, with a broken past, from a broken home. For a long time I felt stuck in a rut, no one else seen my worth, so I thought it must be true, I’m worthless.
I thank Jesus for the life he has given me. There have been so many times I’ve wanted to throw in the towel. So many times that honestly, I felt I had the right too, but his love propelled me forward. God carried me through my childhood. He saved me at a young age. He has always been my father.
He has loved me and wiped every tear from my eye. He has taken my ashes and given me joy.
He has given me the grace to forgive and move on. He has always been there for me and always protected me in ways my earthly mind can never comprehend.
There comes a time in life where you have to just weep. Weep for the childhood you lost, weep your lost innocence, weep the memories, weep for the pain your heart felt for many, many years.
But then you have to stand up, dust yourself off, wash your face, and move forward.
The devil wants nothing more than to keep you in that place of solitaire and heartache. Then, you can’t move forward to everything good that God has for you.
God has big plans for your life. It’s bigger than you and me. You can’t quit now.
Everyday you get stronger. Yes there will be setbacks. There will be days that are harder, but you will overcome by blood of the lamb.
Everything that was sent from the pits of hell to destroy you God will turn around to bless you.
He wasn’t the one who caused those things to happen. But He is the reason why you’re still here. He is the reason why your heart is beating. He has a purpose for your life, but you choose whether to embrace that or throw it away.
I want to experience all that God has to offer me. I let the enemy keep my heart broken for way too long, but now I realize I deserve so much better. God is healing me and showing me just how much I am worth to Him. I am worth more than all of the treasure in the world.
He sees in me what I can’t see in myself. He wants to fill us with His peace. He wants us to rest in Him. He wants to show us that the days to come are much better than what is in our past.
There comes a day you have to decide to just let go. Let go of the pain. Let go of what they said and did to you. Let go of what you lost, and look forward to what’s to come because your future is bright. You can trust that God has a wonderful plan for your life.
You hold the keys to your future, so refuse to turn around to the door that leads to the past, unlock the door that holds your future.
Today, you can make the choice.
You can choose to dwell in the hurt and bitterness, or you can cry until there isn’t a drop left in you, then get up, wash your face, and move forward with a clear heart and a clean slate.
There is nothing in this world worth losing the future God has for you. Let go of the past and embrace what is to come.
