In a culture where sex sells and a woman’s worth is based on mere outward circumstances, it is hard for a woman to find complacency within herself. She is too often told her weakness rather than her strengths, her flaws rather than her good characteristics.
Somehow then, as life’s troubles keep tugging at our hearts, reminding us of the expectations that we are required to live up to, we slowly fade into the background, basing our worth merely on our looks, our finances, our families, and our marriages; the list goes on and on.
But in this midst of all this chaos, understand that you have to be a woman standing when everything around her falls apart.
You are not just your child’s mother, your father’s daughter, or your husband’s wife; you are a special, significant woman in the kingdom of God.
In Psalms 139:13-16 the Psalmist David speaks of an intimate love and personal concern for each of us from our heavenly Father. Here are his words,
“For you formed my inward parts;
you covered me in my mother’s womb.
I will praise you, for I’m fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are your works, and that my soul knows very well.
My frame was not hidden from you, when I was made in secret and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.
And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them.” (NKJV)
Just as the apostle Paul talks about being, “Content whatever the circumstance,” so should we be content. Life is too short to waste worrying about what you do not have, or what you have in excess.
You were made for a divine purpose, a holy calling, not to be wasted on vanity or insecurity. You are a child of the King. The King is enthralled by your beauty! I am not saying you will not have those days when you feel lower than the dirt, but learn and pray to see yourself the way Jesus does.
I regret the time I spent wasted worrying about my outward appearance and my flaws. Through all the chaos what God was whispering to me was beautifully simple, he whispered three words; “Dance with me.”
You are worthy of the King’s affections.
He wants to take you in his arms as everything else in life fades into the background, and woo you in his love. He wants to lead as you follow, guiding your each and every step. He wants you whole and full of love and beauty, knowing your worth in Him. He is longing for you to take hold of his hand so that you can enjoy the life you were intended to have, to dance with Jesus.
Regardless of whatever you have been told in your life, no matter where you have been, no matter what you have done, there is a man who says you are more precious than rubies. Ladies, there is one man who can take away your insecurities, there is one man who can and will make you whole, there is one man who has the whole world in his hands, your true knight in shining armor, King Jesus. And you are his princess.
It is time to stand up as a mighty woman of God and know your worth!
